Kidz Zone

Kidz Zone runs concurrently with our 9.30 am Sunday service.  At Kidz Zone, children up to late primary age worship in an age-appropriate way - listening to and reading stories from the Bible, responding to what they have heard through discussion, art and craft, music and dance, and praying together.  Leaders teach the children the ABC of the Christian faith (the catechism) and guide them towards an understanding of the Church's worship and liturgy.

The children rejoin the adult worship during the 'Greeting of Peace' after the sermon, and together we relight the Kidz Zone candle and place it on the altar.  This is a way of acknowledging that as children and adults we have participated in the service of the Word separately, but we belong together and now come to participate in the service of the Table together.

All of our Kidz Zone leaders are police-cleared and where required have Working With Children cards issued by the WA State Government.  Kidz Zone leaders also attend regular Churchsafe workshop to ensure our children's ministry procedures are best-practice.  We use a variety of teaching resources including 'Seasons of the Spirit' published by MediaCom Australia.  We would like to invite any interested members of the congregation, especially parents of the children themselves, to volunteer as members of our Kidz Zone leaders' team.
